Stephanie and Paul's Wedding at The Crown & Thistle

I had the pleasure of covering Stephanie and Paul's wedding at the lovely Crown & Thistle Pub in Abingdon. Over the years, I've covered a few wedding receptions, but this was the first ceremony at the Crown & Thistle. It's full of character and a stunning location for a wedding. I covered six hours, from the ceremony to the speeches for this wedding.

The sun was beaming down on us throughout the day, and the heat was intense. I could feel the cameras getting so hot in my hands and everyone trying to keep cool with fans. It was a challenging one to stay hydrated and work in the sun. Luckily I love the sun, so brink it on, baby.

After the ceremony and drinks reception, a small group of us headed to the nearby park to cover the smaller family group shots and the bride and groom portraits. With all the pictures in the bag and the couple safely back with the guests, it was time to get some mingling shots.

Before long, everyone was tucking into food, followed by speeches and bringing my time to an end.

It's been an incredible year for weddings and the British weather. Let us hope this is the new UK sunshine moving forward.
